DataSplice Answers Demand for iPads, Android Systems

PRESS RELEASE

With the increased popularity of iPad, Android and other systems, companies are seizing the opportunity to affordably “go mobile”.  Enterprise Asset Management workers in the field now have expanded choices - and they are demanding them.

FORT COLLINS, COLORADO: There has been a marked increase in the availability of mobile technology in the workplace. Many new devices, including tablets, smartphones and netbooks are joining traditional rugged devices in the field. These new devices have increased user acceptance, and driven the end user to demand, instead of shun, mobile technology, especially in the field of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).

DataSplice has embraced the expanding mobility trend, and has announced support for multiple platforms and devices, including Android and iOS (including iPad and iPhone) devices, as well as the new Windows RT and 8 systems. Utilizing HTML5 technologies, DataSplice’s expanded remote client provides more alternatives for EAM workers who are performing remote work for inspections, assets audits, work orders and inventory duties. One system is able to handle multiple needs within an organization, which reduces implementation, support and licensing costs.

Already known as the leading mobile software solution dedicated to IBM Maximo’s Asset Management system since 2001, the enhanced offering continues to provide online and offline functionality, while keeping its signature configurable administration tools in place: something system administrators will enjoy. The organization also boasts a decade of experience implementing mobile systems specifically for utilities, oil and gas, aerospace, defense and government entities.

Maximo administrators who are familiar with SQL queries are able to configure the system to fit the organization’s unique work flow, with little or no intervention after the initial installation, known as one of the shortest in the industry.

Current users will notice little or no changes to their server or administration client software.  The system also retains its ability to connect to complementary enterprise systems, such as HR, regulatory and financial packages.

The enhanced technology offering completes the software system that is well known for working with rugged Windows Mobile devices. While support for these industry specific devices, with their durability, ability to be read in day-light and high speed scanning devices will continue, users who choose Android and iOS devices will be able to access data while in the field, whether they are connected or disconnected.
