Optimization Resources, a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) consulting company is founded by Scott Kunze in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Working with one of Optimization Resources clients, Scott realized there was a need for a mobile system for Maximo that would work offline. All of the developers he approached told him it was not technically possible, so he turned to his son, Matt Kunze. Matt didn't know that it was impossible, and designed the first system. DataSplice the company was incorporated in June of that year, and shortly thereafter, Optimization Resources rolled its staff into the new company.
DataSplice 2.3 is released, and becomes a major player in the Maximo arena. Quickly outgrowing its headquarters on Mountain Avenue, the team decided they needed to stay in Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado. A search of local properties found a home from 1897 with great growth potential. The home was remodeled and artfully expanded to keep the original front facade intact and unchanged from the street. The building is still home to our headquarters.
MRO Software, Inc., the provider of Maximo, is purchased by IBM in August of 2009. DataSplice becomes an IBM Advanced Business Partner. With the new cooperation with Big Blue, DataSplice doubles in size, both internally, and in installations. DataSplice develops its first HTML5 product which provides hardware agnostic support across any device or operating system. Realizing there is still a entrenched presence of Windows Mobile devices, the decision to support these devices makes DataSplice the first, and currently only, company to support all major mobile platforms.
Improved GIS integration is added to DataSplice, and immediately incorporated into routes and rounds, including vegetation management for utilities. Maps are now made available without the need for Maximo Spacial.
