Project Description

The largest power outage in U.S. history was caused by just one tree encountering a transmission line in Ohio. The outage in 2003 affected 55 million people in eight U.S. states and in Canada. One electric power company in Arizona is being proactive to prevent any trees from causing that type of calamity in their community. To meet their mission, they identified a need to streamline their process for tree trimming with a mobile solution.

County puts a contract out on eliminating inefficiencies

Contractor system oversight provides accountability while saving tax dollars. Mowing contractors are common for governments, and so are the issues for tracking and inspecting work, as well as managing the contracts. DataSplice developed a system to streamline the work order process, while allowing inspections and corrective work orders to be handled on the spot.  Using mobile devices including smart phones, work orders are tracked, completed and inspected, providing a measurably faster process and reduce mowing backlogs. They also were able to improve quality control, reduce paper, and improve invoicing, all while improving customer satisfaction
